How could I possibly capture all the emotion with an article? Three on-air television jobs, one in a major TV market and another on a national cable network. Nearly 33 years at one station and making it through to a retirement luncheon at age 65.

Minton was much more than a TV meteorologist, she made an incredible impression on anyone who crossed paths with her, and even viewers at home who never met her but she made them feel like they did. I could go around to many folks and ask them of their impressions of Kaen Minton and all would say similar things. Here is one from the meteorologist who will be replacing her in the morning on WSB-TV- Brian Monahan, “There is literally no one better. The phrase “colleague but also a friend” is used a lot, but it’s so true with Karen.

We laugh together so much, away from the serious business of weather. She connects with people in such a way that makes them all feel like she’s a member of the family — and we’re family too! I’ll miss seeing her and working with her and learning from her every day. She’s a dear friend and I wish nothing but the best.”
